Popular Stroud swimming spot, Stratford Park Lido, is reopening for the summer season this May 2022.

The 50-metre spring fed pool in Stratford Park is due to reopen on Saturday 28 May 2022 and will be open seven days a week from 12pm to 7pm each day.

Keen swimmers can book in for lane swimming sessions from 12pm to 1pm and 6pm to 7pm daily, with family-friendly public sessions taking place from 1.15pm to 3.15pm and 3.45pm to 5.45pm.

And new for the 2022 season, the lido is also introducing early morning swimming sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7am to 9am.

Contract manager at Everyone Active, Jamie Nesbit, said: ‘We can confirm Stratford Park Lido will open on Saturday 28 May 2022 and we are offering a wide variety of swimming sessions to suit everyone, ranging from early morning to early evening.

‘We’ve been working with Stroud District Council to ensure the outdoor pool is clean and safe to use and are excited to welcome families and friends back to enjoy the facilities very soon.’

Chair of Stroud District Council’s Community Services and Licensing Committee, Councillor Chris Brine, added: ‘The Lido is a much-loved community asset which is ideal for a cooling dip when the weather warms up. It’s a key part of one of the three top priorities in the new council plan.’

Stratford Park Lido is situated next to Stratford Park Leisure Centre and is operated by Everyone Active in partnership with Stroud District Council. It usually welcomes around 8,500 visitors each summer and takes three weeks to fill from the spring before it’s ready for public use.

Swimmers can book sessions online using the Everyone Active App or by calling the leisure centre on (01453) 766771.
