Søstrene Grene is opening its first Gloucestershire store at The Brewery Quarter in Cheltenham.

The Danish retail store is taking up residence next door to Urban Outfitters, F45 and SLG at the High Street end of The Brewery Quarter and opens on Friday 28 April 2023, with interior designer and TV personality, Georgina Burnett, officially opening the store and the first 100 customers receiving a free tufted rug and a canvas tote bag full of goodies.

Promising to 'introduce shoppers to a wonderful world of Scandinavian interiors, hobby items, small furniture, kitchen items and art and craft supplies', Søstrene Grene has been described as a 'little Ikea' - with the Cheltenham venue being the first to open in Gloucestershire.

With a shopping experience that promises to invoke the senses, homeware fans will be treated to warm, cosy lighting, the scent of untreated wood and plenty of Scandi-inspired items to browse.

The new opening puts the leisure and retail development at 99 per cent capacity, with only one vacant unit remaining, showing confidence in both Cheltenham town centre and The Brewery Quarter as a destination.

Nikki Kontarines, director of Martin Commercial Properties Ltd, managing agents of The Brewery Quarter, said: 'We are delighted to secure a lease with Søstrene Grene, which follows a long list of recent aspirational openings here.

'Søstrene Grene is a perfect accompaniment to The Brewery Quarter. Like many of our great venues, it has a broad appeal to all types of customers; from young professionals through to home makers, and lovers of stylish, innovative products with appealing prices. It underlines The Brewery Quarter’s strapline as being a fantastic location to shop, dine, stay and play.'

CEO and co-owner of Søstrene Grene, Mikkel Grene, added: 'We are very happy to be opening a store in Cheltenham which is a town we’ve wanted to trade in for a while now, and The Brewery Quarter is the perfect fit for us. We always strive to offer our customers beautiful experiences when they visit a Søstrene Grene store and we are looking forward to bringing some traditional Danish hygge into shoppers’ everyday lives.'

The store is the latest in a string of new venues at The Brewery Quarter, with Flight Club, BrewDog, Pho and Pizza Express all opening in 2022, with the destination receiving national recognition at the 2022 Property Awards, too.

Søstrene Grene officially opens at 10am on Friday 28 April 2023.
