Cheltenham’s Brewery Quarter has announced that Indian street food restaurant Mowgli will be opening its doors this August 2021.

Mowgli Cheltenham, which is located next to The Botanist in the former home of Babel, opposite popular cocktail bar The Alchemist, will open on Monday 16 August 2021.

The new restaurant will join the likes of F45, which opened earlier this year, and Hubbox which is yet to reveal its opening date, and comes after Frankie and Benny’s and Chiquitos both shut up shop permanently.

The Cheltenham venue will be the brand’s 13th site and will offer ‘simple dishes that convey the truth that real Indian food is extremely healthy, often vegan or plant based and always packed with fresh flavour and vitality.’

Nikki Kontarines, asset manager of Martin Commercial Properties, managing agents of The Brewery Quarter, said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Mowgli to The Brewery Quarter this summer.

‘We feel that Mowgli is the perfect fit alongside our other quality operators.’

Founder and CEO of Mowgli, Nisha Katona, said: ‘I have always been a fan of Cheltenham – more literary than racing in truth. Seeing some of my hero authors there made Cheltenham nothing less than hallowed ground for me.

‘To be able to take Mowgli to Cheltenham, to create over 30 jobs, and to find and support a local charity there, makes me so proud and reminds me of why we must keep our strength and chin up and march on. We exist to enrich life in the cities we go to- Cheltenham I hope we make you proud.’

Mowgli Cheltenham opens at the Brewery Quarter on Monday 16 August 2021.
