Expect charcoal burning and chainsaw carving when the Forest of Dean favourite returns to the Dean Heritage Centre this May.

The Fire, Wood & Heritage Festival returns to the Forest of Dean this Whitsun half term for three days of family fun.

The annual event, being held from Saturday 25 to Monday 27 May 2019 at the Dean Heritage Centre, celebrates wood, fire and the area’s local artisan heritage through a host of demonstrations and activities.

Highlights will include chainsaw carving (the centre is the UK’s only static chainsaw carving pitch) and a traditional charcoal burn.

Visitors can also learn about the fascinating rich heritage of the Forest of Dean, there will also be a series of workshops, arts and crafts, as well as activity trails around the centre.
