Cheltenham’s Bacon Theatre opened at Dean Close School in 1991 and hosts a variety of productions performed by both pupils and touring theatre companies.

The 566-seat theatre, named after Mr Christopher Bacon who was the school’s headmaster from 1979 to 1998, offers a spectacular backdrop for theatre, live music, dance, film and celebrity speakers, thanks to its state-of-the-art facilities and excellent sightlines.

Alongside productions by Dean Close Prep School, theatregoers can expect everything from family-friendly events and National Theatre broadcasts to award-winning tribute acts and mesmerising ballet.

The theatre prides itself on affordable ticket prices, along with offering free on-site parking and a fully licensed bar where you can enjoy pre-show or interval drinks.

Bacon Theatre can be hired for amateur dramatic productions, fundraising events or conferences, and the experienced events team can help create tailored packages to suit a variety of budgets.

The theatre also has the Tuckwell Amphitheatre, a Greek-style outdoor venue which plays host to the popular Open-Air Theatre Festival every summer.
