Bacon Theatre

Dean Close School, Shelburne Road, Cheltenham, GL51 6HE | (01242) 258002

From musicals and plays to films and dance shows, enjoy fantastic productions at Cheltenham’s Bacon Theatre. Opened in 1991, the theatre is housed by Dean Close School and showcases events from both pupils and touring theatre companies, proving it’s far more than just a school auditorium.

The impressive 566-seat theatre is named after Mr Christopher Bacon, the school’s former headmaster, and benefits from state-of-the-art facilities and excellent sightlines.

Theatregoers can expect everything from family-friendly events and National Theatre broadcasts, through to award-winning tribute acts and mesmerising ballet.

The theatre prides itself on affordable ticket prices and free on-site parking. Providing a great opportunity to enjoy pre-show or interval drinks, the fully-licensed bar serves beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks.

Bacon Theatre can be hired for amateur dramatic productions, fundraising events or conferences, and its experienced events team can help create tailored packages to suit a variety of budgets.

The theatre is also home to the Tuckwell Amphitheatre, a Greek-style outdoor venue which plays host to the popular Open-Air Theatre Festival every summer.
