10 reasons to enter the SoGlos Gloucestershire Business Awards 2022

The chance to impress a leading line-up of judges, gain recognition for your achievements, stand out from the competition and celebrate with the Gloucestershire business community are just some of the reasons to enter this year’s SGGBAs.

Having shaken up the traditional awards format with a fresh new approach in 2021, the SoGlos Gloucestershire Business Awards are back, bigger and better than ever for a second year – with 2022 entries now open to innovative start-ups through to the top 100 business in the county.

If you’re yet to submit your nomination for Gloucestershire’s definitive business awards, the great news is there’s still time to shine – and here’s 10 top reasons to enter by the deadline on Wednesday 1 June 2022 via soglos.com/awards-business.

1. Get your business in front of a prestigious judging panel

All shortlisted SGGBA entries will be sent to the esteemed judging panel, which this year includes representatives from headline co-sponsors Hazlewoods and Willans LLP solicitors, as well as category sponsors Barclays, Ecotricity, Gloucestershire County Council, Hewer FM, Roberts Limbrick… the list goes on.

2. More opportunities for businesses to shine

With more SGGBA categories this year, there’s now 21 opportunities for you to shine – from New Business, Growth Business and Family Business of the Year, to Best Place to Work, Customer Excellence and Green Business of the Year. You can enter up to three categories too.

3. More opportunities to celebrate outstanding individuals

Individuals also now have more chances to gain recognition from their peers, with 2022 categories including Entrepreneur, Employee, Business Leader, Young Business Leader and Apprentice of the Year.

4. Meet the other finalists in an exclusive extra event

If you’re lucky enough to make the list of finalists in your category, look forward to joining all of this year’s finalists and sponsors at a special drinks event at Gloucester Brewery on Thursday 19 July 2022. A great opportunity to come together before the big awards night later in the year…

5. Celebrate at the anticipated awards night

All finalists will, of course, also be invited to the anticipated awards night itself, set to be held at the new Minster Exchange in Cheltenham on Thursday 20 October 2022.

Expect a relaxed celebration evening with drinks from Neptune Rum, supper from Wild Pizza Co and networking, with the live reveal of winners by returning compère Steve Knibbs from BBC Points West. Another anticipated highlight on the county’s business calendar, organised in partnership with Oasis Events.

6. Be welcomed onto the stage to collect your SGGBA

Finalists will be credited by the compère on the awards night itself, and receive an official SGGBA certificate, while winners will be invited onto the stage to collect their coveted trophy, before having their official photo taken to capture the special moment.

7. Get editorial coverage across SoGlos’s platforms

The celebrations don’t stop there, as winners will benefit from coverage on SoGlos – Gloucestershire’s leading media brand, with exposure to our 265,000 monthly audience of website readers, email newsletter subscribers and social media followers.

8. Celebrate winning at the most authentic awards in the region

Winners can proudly shout about their award win knowing SGGBA is the most authentic business awards in the region, with the very best businesses and individuals being voted for by a panel of expert leaders representing iconic Gloucestershire organisations.

9. Share your success with your team, partners and customers

From your staff and partners to your new and existing customers, who doesn’t love being part of an award-winning business? Share the great news far and wide – we’ll even provide you with assets to help you do so!

10. The whole SGGBA process is completely free of charge

Last, but by no means least, entry to the awards, attendance of the sponsors and finalists event, attendance of the awards night, certificates, awards and every other aspect of SGGBA is completely free of charge thanks to the generous support of our sponsors.
