The new manager of the Sup and Chow pub on Cheltenham’s Bath Road, says he wants to make better use of the pub’s facilities and open it up during the day for parenting groups.

Ashley Burgoyne told SoGlos: ‘We have plenty of space in a large function room at the back of the pub. The furniture can be moved out of the way to give plenty of space for buggies and we’re hoping to bring in lots of toys and play mats, as well as an improved kids menu.’

When asked about accessibility to the venue, Ashley continued: ‘There are stairs to access the function room from the front, but we’d intend to open the rear access, which would be accessible for anyone with a pushchair.

‘Parking is a bit of a problem, but there are loads of parents living in the Bath Road area who we think could benefit from a playgroup in such a central location.’

After only starting as the pub’s new manager in April 2018, Mr Burgoyne has been quick to ask for feedback from members of the public on how the space could be best used. Posting on Facebook, he asked a parenting group what kind of facilities they’d like to see in the function room.

Playgroups hoping to utilise the space at the Sup and Chow are asked to get in touch with Ashley on (01242) 521736.
