Slimbridge Wetland Centre is reopening in June

Great news for Gloucestershire families and birdwatchers, Slimbridge Wetland Centre is welcoming visitors back on Wednesday 10 June 2020, for the first time since lockdown was introduced.

Slimbridge Wetland Centre will reopen on Wednesday 10 June 2020, the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust has announced.

Nature at the Gloucestershire day out venue has been thriving during lockdown, with staff describing it as ‘absolutely teeming’ with birds, animals and insects to spot.

To ensure people’s safety, visitor numbers at Slimbridge Wetland Centre will be strictly limited and both members and non-members must book in advance using the online booking system. Places are released every Wednesday morning at 9am for the following week.

A one-way system has been introduced on some routes around Slimbridge Wetland Centre and hides will be open but will have strict limits on the number of people allowed in at any one time.

All of Slimbridge Wetland Centre’s play areas and most indoor spaces, including the shop and café, will remain closed. Toilets will be open, however, and a kiosk at Welly Boot Land will also be open for takeaway food, ice creams and coffee.

For more information, see Slimbridge Wetland Centre and to book tickets, visit wwt.org.uk/slimbridge.
