The Corinium Museum is located at the heart of Cirencester, the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’, and plays host to one of the largest collections of Romano-British antiquities in the UK, as well as taking visitors on a journey through time – from its prehistoric landscape to the modern day.

Roman Cirencester, Corinium, was the second largest town in Roman Britain, and the award-winning museum gives visitors the rare chance to experience life as a Roman, marvel at impressive mosaics of the day and visit a Roman garden.

Within the Corinium Museum’s light and modern galleries, visitors can also discover prehistoric tools, forensically-reconstructed Saxon heads and Medieval sculpture, tracing a path from the Iron Age to the English Civil War and exploring 18th and 19th century Cirencester too.

Visitors of all ages will find something of interest at the Corinium Museum – with the hands-on activities and interactive displays proving particularly popular with children and school groups.

Corinium Museum plays host to a fantastic programme of events, talks and workshops throughout the year, along with an eclectic range of film screenings in the dedicated cinema.

For more information call (01285) 655611, email or visit directly.
