Transform your home into a battlefield and re-live local history when the annual Tewkesbury Medieval Festival goes virtual on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 July 2021.
Streaming a virtual programme of events throughout the weekend, the festival invites families and history fans to raise their swords and celebrate the Battle of Tewkesbury’s 550th anniversary year.
While the in-person event is sadly unable to go ahead, the virtual festival will share informative video content via Facebook Live – giving folk the chance to witness past re-enactments of the famous battle from the comfort of their own castle.
Visitors will also be invited to look back at the history of the festival itself, which has grown to become one of Europe’s biggest free medieval gatherings for history lovers, re-enactors and traders since its first event in 1984.
Plus, enjoy medieval music and entertainment; peek inside Tewkesbury Abbey; and learn how to forge a medieval arrowhead.
