Music

Providing a great backdrop for the spring showcase, visitors can look forward to a host of great music across the weekend. Thursday will get things off to a great start with music from Chavo, a percussion-heavy, mandolin-infused, vintage keys indie band.

On Friday enjoy music from boogie woogie piano trio, Professor Nohair and the Wiglifters onto the floor featuring Simon Palmer on the piano and organ, Andre St Claire Dyer on drums and Tom Allen on double bass.

Saturday welcomes three talented musicians spanning Em Musto delivering a mixture of soul, hip hop and reggae; local artist Bryan Panks who’ll revive his band from the Glastonbury stage; and in the evening, Solomento, fusing East African vocals and rhythms with a Latin, ska and Caribbean backbeat.

On Sunday, enjoy funk, rare groove, jazz, soul, and reggae, and see guest DJs Kevin Baynam, Jason Starr and Rob Anthony; while on Monday there will be a host of musicians gathering to play the music they love best during Dave Ayre’s Jazzgasam.

Food and drink

Whether you’re partial to a real ale, cider or perry, there’s plenty of tasty tipples to look forward to during The Prince Albert’s festival, with up to 32 ales and 10 cider and perry choices.

What’s more there will be plenty of delicious food to tantalise the taste buds and keep rumbling stomachs at bay, with Jamaica Inn Kitchen set to cook up a storm. And on Sunday, there will be a Beer Fest Reggae Roast, when visitors can look forward to a Caribbean feast.
