Carols on the Hour at Gloucester Cathedral

Every hour on the hour, Gloucester Cathedral will be filled with beautiful Christmas music at its special Carols on the Hour event this December 2022.

Hear beautiful Christmas music from the Gloucester Cathedral choirs and local music groups at Carols on the Hour this December 2022.

Filling the spectacular Gloucester Cathedral with glorious Christmas music, its family-friendly Carols on the Hour event takes place on Saturday 17 December 2022. 

With performances on the hour, every hour from 11am until 4pm, visitors can enjoy performances of Christmas music from the cathedral's choirs, as well as local music groups the Caring Chorus and Gloucester Strings Ukulele Club. 

The Cathedral Junior Choir start proceedings with a performance at 11am; the Cathedral Middle Choir perform at 12pm; the Cathedral Youth Choir at 1pm; the Cathedral Boy Choristers sing at 2pm; Caring Chorus perform at 3pm; with Gloucester Strings rounding off the day with an outdoor, sing-along performance on College Green at 4pm.

Offering what Gloucester Cathedral describes as a ‘bite-sized burst of festive praise’, each service lasts for 30 minutes and is suitable for the whole family, with everyone welcome.

Carols on the Hour is free to attend and doesn't require a ticket, but it's advisable to arrive early for the service you’d like to attend, so as to guarantee entry.
