Battle re-enactment at Tewkesbury Medieval Festival
Return to battle for 2023 as Tewkesbury Medieval Festival prepares for another year of historic re-enactment.

Re-live local history when the annual Tewkesbury Medieval Festival makes its anticipated return on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 July 2023.

Hear canons firing and swords clashing on the original site of the 1471 Battle of Tewkesbury at what has become the largest free medieval fayre and re-enactment in Europe.

Attracting history lovers from around the world, the festival not only provides a professional re-enactment of the famous War of the Roses battle, but also living history displays, a beer tent, food and drink stalls and a medieval market selling everything from crafts to armour.

There's traditional medieval-inspired entertainment from jugglers, musicians and jesters and activities for children, too.
