Events and activities at Westonbirt Arboretum in summer 2026
Following Westonbirt's summer theme for 2026, 'In Tune With Nature', the arboretum invites visitors to slow down and reconnect with the living world, with activities from nature spotting and wellness sessions, to fun craft workshops.
On Saturday 20 June, families can sit quietly among the trees, map the sounds of woodland wildlife and sharpen their listening skills, in Creature Conversations.
From capturing 'tree music' using biosensors, to recreating the sounds of nature through beatboxing, visitors can connect with trees through sound creativity in Nature’s Soundtrack, from Tuesday 4 to Thursday 6 August.
In Tune With Wellbeing features wellness walks and gentle yoga, designed for families to unwind together beneath the trees, on Tuesday 11 to Thursday 13 August.
Watch bees at work and discover the fascinating lives of free‑living honeybees, with Wild About Bees on Sunday 16 August.

Children can get creative making their own musical instruments using natural woodland materials, in Woodland Orchestra from Tuesday 18 to Thursday 20 August.
And young families can venture off the beaten path to explore the arboretum through smell, touch, sound and sight, with Sensory Woodland Walks from Tuesday 25 until Thursday 27 August.
Also on Saturday 18 July, the arboretum is hosting the Council for British Archaeology’s Festival of Archaeology – a celebration of archaeology and nature that welcomes everyone to explore the 'deep connections' between landscape, history and human life.
For the special event only, the arboretum is opening its gates free of charge, with Westonbirt's team hosting a family-friendly workshop on the day exploring tree rings and what they can tell us about the past, featuring activities including herbarium pressing your own leaves.
How to book events and activities at Westonbirt Arboretum?
While for many of the events, visitors can just drop in to take part, booking is recommended for Nature's Soundtrack and Sensory Guided Walks, to avoid disappointment on the day.
General admission booking is also recommended for the Festival of Archaeology, to guarantee entry.
And, this summer, look out for reductions on standard admission tickets and children's meals, too.
