Spanning luxury hotels for pampered pooches through countryside retreats, perfect for exploring the Cotswolds, SoGlos has found 37 hotels which open their doors to four-legged friends.

1. Owlpen Manor in Uley

Offering nine different overnight experiences in its self-catering holiday cottages, guests can choose from small cottages sleeping just two people, through to large family sized farmhouse style buildings, sleeping up to eight.

As a dog-friendly venue, Owlpen Manor welcomes well behaved dogs into all of its cottages, with the only rule that they’re not allowed on sofas or beds. Because of its stunning 215-acre plot, your four-legged friend will love the amazing walks directly on the doorstep of each cottage. It’s also safe to explore, as the site is located far from busy roads.

2. Tewkesbury Park Hotel

For £20 per pup, per night, dogs can stay at the stylish Tewkesbury Park Hotel and enjoy their own dog bowl and bed in the room, so they can sleep soundly alongside their family.

What’s even better is that pampered pooches can enjoy a delightful chicken dinner in the evening, and start the day with a sausage for breakfast the next morning!

A luxury hotel in the centre of Cheltenham, Hotel du Vin also provides a deluxe sanctuary for four-legged friends.

Well-behaved dogs aged one and above are allowed to share a room with their owners at an extra charge of £10 per night. Guests simply need to notify the hotel before their arrival so that they can be allocated an appropriate room.

4. Ellenborough Park near Cheltenham

Furry friends are in for a treat if their owners opt to stay at Cheltenham’s five-star hotel Ellenborough Park, which offers a number of dedicated dog rooms, ensuring that pets experience the same level of luxury as any other guest.

Dogs are also welcome throughout the hotel’s grounds, in the on-site restaurant The Horse Box, and in the venue’s main house and atrium.

There is a £25 housekeeping charge added per day of your stay if you’re travelling with a pooch.

Welcome in the sitting room, billiard room or on the terrace, there’s a £25 charge per night for pups, which includes the use of a dog bed, water bowl and doggy treats.

9. Whitemead Forest Park in Lydney

Chic Cheltenham hotel, Malmaison, welcomes well behaved dog over the age of one, to stay for £10 per night, with its spacious Executive Rooms particularly suited to pet owners. Pooches can go in the reception area but aren’t allowed in the hotel’s restaurant or bar.

Situated in a prime location for exploring the city of Gloucester and the surrounding countryside, Hallmark Hotel remains a popular choice for overnight stays, with dogs also welcome to share their owner’s room at an extra charge of £15 per dog, per night.

12. The Old Stocks Inn in Stow-on-the-Wold

Promising the ‘warmest welcome in the Cotswolds’, luxury Stow-on-the-Wold hotel The Old Stocks Inn extends this invitation to pet pals too. It’s home to three garden rooms with their own private garden terrace – perfect for pet owners, with two small or one large dog allowed per room.

There’s a charge of £10 per dog per night, which includes a comfy bed and water bowl.

Tudor Farmhouse is a boutique retreat situated in Clearwell. While the venue does have a range of rooms unsuitable for dogs, it does allow one small dog in each of its Hatchling rooms, along with room number seven.

For a charge of just £10 per night, dogs can bed down for the night in cosy surroundings, but it’s worth noting that only assistance dogs are allowed in the main building where the dining rooms, bar and lounge are located.

Nestled within acres of grounds and in close proximity to miles of Cotswold walking paths, Charingworth Manor offers a haven for active dogs that are welcome to stay at a charge of £20 per dog or £32 for two dogs per night.

And canine guests are in for a treat, as they’ll even be given a doggy treat and toy, as well as bowls to use for the duration of your stay, filled with a breakfast sausage each morning.
