With the sales of electric vehicles booming and some businesses even offering salary sacrifice schemes solely for EV cars, the ability to charge your car at work ready for the commute home is a valid concern.
Forest of Dean District Council has announced that it has government grants available to fund the costs of installing up to 40 EV charging sockets at workplaces across the district.
Money can go towards the purchase, installation and any infrastructure needed for EV charging points at businesses.
The initiative comes under the government's Workplace Charging Scheme, which offers businesses, charities, public sector organisations and small accommodation businesses funding to help transition to more sustainable transport options; all helping to support net zero targets across local authorities.
Businesses and charities can apply for up to 40 sockets each, with a maximum of £350 available towards the cost of each one.
The deadline to apply for funding is Monday 31 March 2025. For more information, contact Forest of Dean District Council on (01594) 810000.
