BiGDUG, a supporter of Gloucester Rugby through last season, has stepped up to become the Kingsholm club’s new main sponsor, replacing the long-serving Mitsubishi Motors.

The signing of the shelving and racking specialist is a significant commercial win as the club seeks to rebuild from the heavy blow of the coronavirus pandemic.

Paying homage to the vital financial support that also came from its fans and Kingsholm community during the crisis, its new shirts will also feature the legend, ‘Squad of Thousands’, under the collar – and have gone on sale from Friday 30 July 2021.

Lance Bradley, chief executive officer at Gloucester Rugby, said: ‘Today marks another exciting new chapter for Gloucester Rugby and in challenging economic times, the commitment from BiGDUG comes at a crucial time.

‘Everything we’ve done this year has been with the local community in mind – whether that’s through offering job opportunities as part of the Kick Start scheme, investing in world-class facilities in the centre of the city, or simply sending messages to some of our longest serving fans.

‘The extended partnership with a prominent local brand, and the design of the new shirt is the perfect opportunity to take that sentiment into the new season.’

Chris Reilly, managing director at BiGDUG, said: ‘To be aligned with such an iconic club and strong local brand is a privilege and the renewal of this relationship represents a new, exciting chapter for us to further strengthen our ties with the local area and Gloucester Rugby fans.’
