After a hiatus due to Covid-19, just having live networking is still a novelty, but turning up for such a gathering and being given a shotgun helped make the latest SoGlos networking event in partnership with Crowe even more unusual.
The SoGlos Gloucestershire Business Shooting Day at Ian Coley Sporting was a chance to invite contacts, partners, sponsors of its business and lifestyle awards, and bosses of some of Gloucestershire’s best companies to have fun and enjoy a little friendly competition.
Sue Daye, a tax partner at Crowe, which has 130 staff at its offices in Cheltenham and 1,300 UK-wide, said: ‘Being able to get together with each other again and enjoy ourselves and meet some new people has been really good.’
James Fyrne, co-founder and group publisher for Cheltenham-headquartered SoGlos, which now has the biggest team of journalists in Gloucestershire, said: ‘It has been a pleasure to welcome so many guests including CEOs and managing directors from construction, aviation, film, automotive, farming, environmental and other sectors. I don’t think there is a virtual equivalent of something like this!’
Founder and director of vehicle leasing specialist Fleet Electric, Richard Markey, was delighted to attend. He said: ‘This has been a really good chance to meet and talk to businesspeople I might not have met before and it’s all been in such good spirits.’

The executive team shooting day, staged with accountants Crowe, was hosted by Georgie Martin of Ian Coley Sporting and the expert staff team from the Cotswolds venue. Catering was kindly supplied by My Pastalicious in Cheltenham.
