Forward-thinking commercial production company, StillMoving, has appointed a new head of film, with Joseph Turp stepping into the role this March 2024.

The Cheltenham-based production company has an impressive reputation and works with global brands including Disney, Aston Martin and Lotus, as well as local organisations including Cheltenham Festivals, Spirax Sarco and Superdry

The business celebrated a record year in 2023 and there are plans for its high-tech Bishop's Cleeve studio to become a regional film, photography and equipment hire hub — with Joseph being integral to its ambitious growth plans.

Joseph boasts 17 years of experience in filmmaking and has worked with the likes of HBO, L'Oréal, The National Lottery and Tate Britain — and as the new head of film, will lead the creative strategy and direction of StillMoving, building its network of specialist directors and crew to facilitate and accelerate its expansion.

StillMoving's chief creative officer, Spencer McPherson, said: 'We’re delighted to be welcoming Joe to the team and know his incredible talent for directing, producing, shooting and editing will be invaluable in expanding and honing our filmmaking services.

'His appointment demonstrates the significant investment we’re making into StillMoving’s growth as we work towards our goal of becoming the region’s leading film and photography production company. We are on target for one of our strongest years to date and we’re so excited to see what the future holds.'

Joseph added: 'StillMoving is one of the most forward-thinking commercial production companies in the south west and it's brilliant to be joining the team at such a key moment in its growth.

'Every filmmaker wants the opportunity to work for a company that has the profile, specialisms and passion that StillMoving offers, and I'm delighted to join a company that shares my dedication to creative excellence throughout the entire filmmaking process.'
