The next CEO of Cheltenham BID says she will look to build on the 'excellent' work already underway in the town to support the local businesses, following her appointment this September 2026.
Experienced public sector senior leader, Julie Reader-Sullivan, will begin her new role as chief executive of the BID in October 2026, with current CEO, Francesca Inman, stepping down at the end of this month to take up a new opportunity overseas.
In a joint statement announcing the appointment, Francesca Inman and BID chair Alex Rose say Julie brings extensive senior leadership experience to the organisation, spanning economic development, regeneration, business growth, tourism, strategic partnerships and organisational leadership.
She most recently served as chief executive of local charity Headway Gloucestershire, which provides essential services for people in the county with acquired brain injuries, their families and carers.
The statement said: 'Throughout her career, she has built a reputation for bringing people together, navigating complex challenges and delivering positive outcomes for businesses, communities and stakeholders.
'We are incredibly excited about what Julie's appointment means for Cheltenham BID. Her experience, energy and strategic vision make her exceptionally well placed to lead the BID into its next chapter.'
Julie said: 'I am delighted to be joining Cheltenham BID and look forward to meeting the businesses, partners and stakeholders who contribute so much to the success of the town.
'Cheltenham has a strong reputation as a vibrant place to live, work, visit and invest, and I am excited to spend time listening, learning and understanding how Cheltenham BID can continue to support and champion the business community.
'I will be building on the excellent work already underway and will work collaboratively with partners to help shape the town’s future success.'
With Julie joining the BID part time in October and full time from November 2026, the chair and current CEO add they 'are confident that, under her leadership, Cheltenham BID will continue to be a strong voice for business and an important force for positive change in our town'.
The statement added: 'As Fran prepares to step down, we would like to take this opportunity to recognise and thank her for her leadership and contribution to Cheltenham BID.'
