Spoiler alert! The owner of Cheltenham’s most magical bar, Sophie Wilding, has been fired by Alan Sugar in week seven of BBC reality show, The Apprentice.

‘This isn’t the end for me, obviously’ she said, as she left the process in the taxi waiting outside, ‘I’m looking forward to going back to my cocktail bar and expanding’, she added.

Wilding had put herself forward as project manager for the second time in the series, but the challenge of designing a driverless taxi to transport visitors around venues like the NEC proved to be her undoing.

The ‘party pod’ created by Wilding and the rest of team Diverse was designed to be ‘as Instagrammable as possible’ – complete with red carpet, starlight ceiling, mini fridge and karaoke machine.

But despite its ‘strong look’, the Star Pod was also criticised by potential buyers for its limited appeal and failed to secure enough orders to win the task.

‘It looks a bit like a pimpmobile’ Sir Alan concluded in the boardroom, ‘What are you going to get up to in there when the blinds come down?’, he wondered.

Appearing on Tom Allen’s after show, The Apprentice: You’re Fired, Wilding revealed her business plan would have been to roll out her enchanted cocktail bar to more cities.

Instead, the owner of Imperial Haus in Cheltenham is currently focussing her efforts on launching a new cocktail menu, a hotly-anticipated second floor and a cocktails at home concept.
