Gloucester-based architects firm, Roberts Limbrick, has submitted plans for an impressive new state-of-the-art McMurtry Automotive showroom and factory in Wotton-under-Edge near Stroud.

McMurtry Automotive, which was founded in 2016 by Renishaw co-founder Sir David McMurtry, is currently headquartered at Swinhay Farm in Wotton-under-Edge. The firm is renowned for its innovative hypercars — the name for the highest performing supercars in the world — with its latest model, the Spéirling PURE, revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this July 2023.

The Spéirling PURE is an electric, single-seater, track-only hypercar, envisioned by McMurtry and developed by a team of experts from both Formula One and the aerospace industry — and you can order one for yourself for a cool £820,000.

The Spéirling's first iteration was initially revealed, after years of secrecy and speculation, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2021, breaking records and finishing in first place at the festival a year later.

The new facility near Wotton-under-Edge is set to provide cutting-edge production, research and development facilities for the company, as well as showcasing the Spéirling collection, if plans are approved.
