Music-lovers in Gloucestershire will be delighted to hear that the free Gloucester Rhythm and Blues Festival is returning to Café René this summer.

Scheduled to take place from Monday 26 July 2021, the week-long celebration of rhythm and blues will see live bands take to the venue’s outdoor stage in the heart of Gloucester from Friday 30 July to Sunday 1 August 2021.

Promising to go ahead whatever the weather, there will also be a barbecue and an outdoor bar serving a selection of real ales and ciders curated by Café René.

The announcement on Café René’s Facebook and Instagram profiles said: ‘It’s taken a lot of soul-searching, some frantic planning sessions, and a drink or two to steel our nerves, but we are excited to announce that we WILL be going ahead with this year’s Blues Festival come rain or shine!’

It added: ‘We’ll have all the usual attractions, including our René BBQ, outdoor bar and a special selection of guest ales and delicious ciders.’

The Café René Gloucester Rhythm and Blues Festival is free to attend, with the full line up due to be announced soon.
