As part of a fundraising appeal by the Mayor of Cheltenham, an A-list superstar has donated an old stage outfit, worn on The X Factor in 2016, to help a range of Gloucestershire charities.

Cheltenham Mayor Klara Sudbury asked an old friend, who is now John Legend’s stylist, if there was any way he could help with her fundraising efforts and said she was ‘blown away’ when the global superstar agreed. Councillor Sudbury has been raising money for her chosen charities; the Holly Gazzard Trust and the Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospital’s Charity Focus fund.

The ‘Ordinary People’ singer also posed with a hand-written note to confirm the outfit’s authenticity. The note reads: ‘This is a very special custom-made suit that I wore to perform ‘Love Me Now’ on the X Factor UK – October 23 2016.

‘I hope you enjoy! Thank you so much for supporting the Mayor of Cheltenham’s charity Appeal’ The note was ended with a love heart and John Legend’s signature.

The suit will be sold on eBay to the highest bidder.
