This festive season, Cheltenham will finally get its highly-anticipated ice rink.

Promising a Christmas that will be bigger and better this year, Cheltenham Borough Council has announced that a spectacular new festive ice rink has been given the go-ahead and will run from Thursday 18 November to Sunday 2 January 2022.

Set in Imperial Gardens at the heart of Regency Cheltenham, the exciting new attraction will be covered, making it Gloucestershire’s only all-weather ice rink.

Cheltenham will also be hosting an extended Christmas market from Saturday 20 November to Sunday 19 December 2021, with stalls offering everything from specialist food items to traditional handmade gifts and stocking fillers.

And that’s not all. Alongside the market, the town’s spectacular new Christmas lights will return, bringing an extra sprinkle of festive cheer to the town.

David Jackson, manager of Marketing Cheltenham, said: ‘Our retail and hospitality sectors are a really important part of Cheltenham’s economy, yet have been amongst the hardest hit by the pandemic over the last eighteen months.

‘With this year’s Christmas period taking on even more significance, this investment by Cheltenham Borough Council is an incredibly welcome and positive contribution to supporting the town’s economic recovery and will give our local community something to really look forward to.’

Tickets for the ice rink will be on sale from Monday 18 October 2021 with visitors encouraged to book in advance to avoid disappointment. Tickets will be available to purchase in advance via the Visit Cheltenham website.
