Gloucestershire's Cutest Dog competition
The woof-derful winner of Gloucestershire's Cutest Dog competition has been revealed...

In a county of dog lovers, pretty pooches and handsome hounds, SoGlos joined forces with doggy destination store, Be More Bob, on a mission to find Gloucestershire's Cutest Dog — launching an exclusive competition for pet owners and their four-legged companions to battle it out for the title.

With the #SoGlosDogs hashtag used over 200 times across Instagram and Facebook, and a high calibre of adorable entries received, furry friends of all shapes and sizes were put forward to be named Gloucestershire's Cutest Dog.

Every single pup who entered will be able to get their paws on a free goodie bag from Be More Bob by popping along to the store with proof of their entry. But of course, there can only be one top dog...

And after a phase of shortlisting the entries and putting them before a panel of dog-obsessed judges from SoGlos, the lucky winner and runner-up have been chosen.

A round of appaws for....

Gloucestershire's Cutest Dog competition winner

The gorgeous Mabel, a working cocker spaniel pup from Wotton-under-Edge, won the judges over with her puppy eyes, fetching the top prize as well as the all-important title of Gloucestershire's Cutest Dog — with the winning snap taken on her very first walk. Aww!

Kitting her out for future walkies, Mabel wins a Ruffwear Front Range harness, Front Range lead and Flat Out collar from Be More Bob — an enviable prize combo that's worth over £100.

Good girl, Mabel!

Gloucestershire's Cutest Dog competition runner-up

Coming in a close second, Ricky Bobby the handsome Boston terrier is our runner-up, winning a Ruffwear Front Range lead and collar combo from Be More Bob, worth £45.

The judges loved his adorable Instagram — and were especially impressed to see he's a big fan of Cheltenham-based independent brewery, DEYA!

Gloucestershire's Cutest Dog competition highly commended

With a pawful of four-legged friends gaining some of the judges' top votes, we wanted to give a special shout-out to the super cute entries that very narrowly missed out on the runner-up spot.

Looking like an energetic bundle of pure joy, Ember the golden retriever puppy received a lot of 'aww's from our judges.

While Florence the chow chow from the Cotswolds impressed with her teddy bear-like looks and adorable blue tongue!

Toffee the Staffordshire bull terrier was another firm favourite, with her glowing red coat and eyes that look right into your soul.

Gloucestershire's Cutest Dog competition shortlisted entries

With over 200 entries, it was nearly impossible to pick a shortlist, but after much deliberation, the judges managed to handpick their favourites. Cuteness overload, incoming!

We've got a soft spot for small dogs and fell in love with Skippy the Jack Chi — a Jack Russell chihuahua mix — who looks especially sweet in his bow tie.

From the look of his Instagram, Freddie the Irish terrier is a pup out for adventure and we love his intrepid spirit — not to mention his floppy ears and perfect beard.

Look at that smile! There's no denying that Cooper the cocker spaniel is a cutie. Not just a pretty face, his Instagram is full of doggy adventures, camping and hiking with his owner, Fi.

A blind and diabetic rescue pooch, the adorable Mr Trebus pulled on our heartstrings and it's wonderful to see him living his best life in Gloucestershire with his human family.

We loved this picture of beautiful Banjo the Weimaraner striking a pose at Cotswold Lavender! He shares his Instagram account with his equally cute sister, Morgan the setter cross.

Another bearded beauty, Hetty the miniature schnauzer is certainly a stunner with one of the kindest, most expressive faces we've ever seen on a pup!

Mylo is a striking example of a French bulldog and well-worthy of a place on our shortlist. We love this shot of him basking in the sun!

Wilbur the cocker spaniel is not only a gorgeous boy but a skilled one, too — he's really working that paddleboard!

Romanian rescue Casper came to Gloucestershire from Transylvania and it looks like he's made himself right at home, perusing the incredible artwork on display at Cheltenham Paint Festival in his latest Instagram post.

Cookie is a five-year-old Spanish greyhound with a serious case of the zoomies! We love seeing her canon around on her adventures around Gloucestershire.

We got all choked up hearing about Beryl's story. This beautiful bulldog was abandoned at just a few weeks old, left to fend for herself in the devastating storms of February 2022. She now lives her best life at Newbrook Farm Equestrian in the Stroud district.

Despite being only a few months old, Rodney the cocker spaniel has already mastered the camera — and we're totally obsessed with his little eyebrows.

Elegant Dotty is a gorgeous springer spaniel, who shares her home with two dachshunds, Charlie and Boux. Together, they make an incredibly cute team!

We just couldn't resist Bonnie the miniature chocolate dapple dachshund with her velvety ears and little nugget toes.

We can't tell if Luna the chihuahua looks ready for playtime or ready for bed in this adorable picture, but there's no doubt about the fact that she's a cutie!
