Building work on the new skate and cycle track in Bishop's Cleeve is expected to start by July 2024, once plans are approved.

Get your boards and BMXs to the ready! Construction on a new skate park and pump track in Bishop's Cleeve will soon begin, once Tewkesbury Borough Council sign off the details.

The new park will be located on the playing field on Cheltenham Road, close to Newlands Park rugby ground and Bishop's Cleeve Football Club.

The design of the much-anticipated new facility has been created by Maverick Skateparks — a skater-run design company based in Dorset which specialises in spray concrete skate parks.

Maverick has designed some of the best skate and cycle parks in the country, including the award-winning Concrete Waves park in Newquay, Cornwall.

It has also designed and built five other skate parks in Gloucestershire, including Churchdown, Coleford, Stroud, Moreton-in-Marsh and Tetbury.

Bishop's Cleeve Parish Council hope that Tewkesbury Borough's eight-week planning decision lead time will be stuck to, meaning work could begin as soon as July 2024.
