A new look greets visitors to Batsford Arboretum near Moreton-in-Marsh after a major revamp has overhauled the kitchen and café, bringing with it almost three times the space it had before.

Looking out over the plant centre and Evenlode Valley beyond, the enlarged terrace has stunning countryside views and modern styling includes new tables and chairs as well as pendant lamps cascading from the ceiling bringing a fresh feel.

Marketing manager Laura Summers said: 'We’re really pleased with the café refurbishment, it’s been worth the wait! The additional space has almost tripled our indoor seating capacity and provides a much larger serving area which should help on busier days particularly in the autumn.

'The café kitchen has had a complete overhaul and is now partly enclosed, with windows so you can still see the chefs, so the café is a little quieter.'

The Garden Terrace Café menu, serving locally-sourced, freshly-baked food, has a refreshed menu with an expanded breakfast offering served from 9.30am to 11am and hot lunches now including burgers from midday to 2pm.

Light snacks and a wide range of cakes from a new in-house baker are available throughout the day.

As part of the revamp, the garden shop has also been extended.
