Cheltenham’s newest nightclub has finally been unveiled after investing more than £1.5 million fully refurbishing, re-decorating and re-designing the former Thirteen Degrees building.

After its completion on Friday 16 July 2021, SoGlos was the first to see the transformation – with the company’s PR director Nick Martindale giving us a tour of the new venue on St George’s Road ahead of its official launch on Monday 19 July 2021.

Home & Botanic has taken over the former home of Thirteen Degrees. The ‘Home’ element of its name derives from the fact that the owners and directors live in Cheltenham and have been running clubs together in the town for more than 15 years. They also plan on opening other ‘Botanics’ across the country to add to the existing venues in High Wycombe, Bath and Southampton – hence the name ‘Home & Botanic’ for the Cheltenham venture.

Located in a grade II listed Regency townhouse, which has been a social club since the early 1900s, Home & Botanic has undergone more than £1.5 million of renovation work – including adding heating, air con and ventilation to the building so it will be a comfortable place to be all year around.

The refurbishment merges classic details with modern twists, meaning revellers will still be able to enjoy some of the building’s original features, like its grand sweeping staircase and elegant coving. Every room pairs ‘traditional with sparkle’, combining chandeliers with mirror balls and state-of-the-art sound and light in every room.

Home & Botanic’s refurbishment has seen the creation of five characterful rooms across a multi-level space so that people are able to enjoy different experiences, from relaxed drinks with friends to energetic dancing until the early hours of the morning.

Surrounded by cherry blossom and its aroma is the Instagrammable Botanic, where revellers will be able to enjoy splashes of colour while they sip cocktails and a large selection of gins.

Another room that’s sure to make an appearance on Insta grids is the Piano Bar. With prosecco and champagne sipping expected in the elegant lounge where Home & Botanic’s pianists will play on a Grand Piano every Friday and Saturday.

The Main Clubroom is a high-energy dancehall with luxurious VIP booths, flashing lights and appearances from top DJs every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. With special guests taking centre stage from time to time including Duke, who will perform live on Sunday 25 July 2021.

Another room where you can show off your best dance moves is the Disco Disco area. A modern twist on a classic discotheque with a classic colour-changing dancefloor and glitter walls, where you’ll find the finest cheese, pop and party music so you can dance the night away.

And another exciting element of the new venue is the Beer Haus. A casual drinking experience that leads to an outside terrace and an apres-ski bar vibe.

Local products from Gloucester Brewery; the Cotswolds’ Clavell & Hind; and Cheltenham’s Dunkertons, Sibling Gin, Neptune Rum and Battledown will all be on offer, too. Home & Botanic also has partnerships with Ciroc and Smirnoff vodka, Tanqueray and Whitley Neil gin, Whispering Angel rosé and Veuve Clicquot Champagne.

With the latest licence in Cheltenham, you will be able to enjoy all that Home & Botanic has to offer — including its three bars — until 5am.

Home & Botanic launches on Monday 19 July 2021 and will then be open weekly on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
