Gorgeous Cotswold wedding venue, Owlpen Manor, can add another string to its bow after featuring as the backdrop to Daniel Day-Lewis’ last ever film, Phantom Thread.

The exciting news is sure to delight happy couples who’ll be able to recognise their wedding venue in the blockbuster movie – not to mention prospective couples who have the chance to tie the knot within the spectacular film setting.

Owlpen Manor was used as the principal filming location outside of London for the Oscar nominated movie, with the 150-person film crew spending three weeks filming at the Tudor manor house last year. The manor was used as the country house of Reynolds Woodcock, the film’s main character, played by Daniel Day-Lewis.

Owners of Owlpen Manor, Nicholas and Karin Mander said the crew ‘made themselves at home’ during filming. The couple even had morning coffee with Daniel Day-Lewis each day, before shooting began, and hosted his stay in one of their holiday cottages, near to the manor.

Senior location manager for the film, Jason Wheeler, explained that Owlpen had been picked because it was so homely, lived in and spectacularly beautiful.’

Phantom Thread is now in cinema’s nationwide and has already been nominated for six Oscars including Best Director, Best Actor and Best Picture.
