1. Get a personal trainer you can trust

Whether you’re just starting out on your fitness journey, are already well on your way or are rehabilitating from an injury, a qualified personal trainer or body coach, like Charlie at Prime Motion, can offer expert advice that’s bespoke to you, your lifestyle and your health and wellbeing goals. You can’t beat the personal approach…

2. Join a community

If the thought of working out alone is too daunting, give group fitness classes a try. Even when you’re locked down at home, online group fitness classes, like those offered by Prime Motion, give a sense of community from a safe distance. Prime Motion even has a closed Facebook group for members offering online support and motivation to keep you on track.

3. Move every day

The most important reason to exercise is to get your body moving regularly. From strength training and aerobic fitness to flexibility, Prime Motion’s class timetable offers a different challenge every day, to help get your body working as well as looking great.

4. Eat nutrient dense foods

A huge part of health and wellbeing comes from what you eat. Instead of following fad diets or counting calories, keep a focus on nutritional benefits. Go for foods that aren’t processed and try to curb that sugar addiction too.

5. Get enough sleep

Getting enough sleep is vital for rest and recovery and it’s important to establish a good routine. Aim to get seven to nine hours sleep every night and try going to sleep and waking up at the same time each day, to get your body into a natural rhythm.

6. De-stress

Life can be stressful at the best of times, but especially at the moment, so making time to de-stress is more important now than ever. Stretching and deep breathing can really help to mitigate the effects of stress on the body – try out a livestreamed or on-demand stretch class with Charlie at Prime Motion and give yourself permission to let it all go.

7. Get some daylight

It sounds like a small thing, but getting just 20 minutes of natural daylight every day can help keep your circadian rhythm in check, which can help you sleep better, while spending time in nature can give your mental health a boost. It’s good to give your eyes some exercise too, especially with all the extra screen-time when working from home.
