Cheltenham Racecourse Festival Trials Day is taking place behind closed doors

Cheltenham Racecourse has announced that Festival Trials Day – the last meet before The Festival in March 2021 – will take place behind closed doors. Here's when you can enjoy the racing action from home on TV.

Cheltenham Racecourse has announced that the Festival Trials Day on Saturday 30 January 2021 will take place behind closed doors.

The meeting, which is the last one before The Festival in March 2021, will now take place without spectators following Boris Johnson’s announcement placing England into a third lockdown on Monday 4 January 2021.

A statement on the Cheltenham Racecourse website said: ‘Following the news that England is now in a National Lockdown, unfortunately we are unable to welcome spectators to the racecourse.

‘This means that we will race behind closed doors, but we look forward to being able to welcome racegoers again when it’s safe and appropriate to do so.

‘We will be in touch with anyone who has already purchased a ticket for a fixture now affected by the National Lockdown and a refund will automatically be processed.’

Racing fans will be able to watch Festival Trials Day at Cheltenham Racecourse from home on Saturday 30 January 2021 on ITV, from 1.25pm to 4pm, as well as on Racing TV.
