New Gloucester Brewery warehouse bar opens at Gloucester Docks

Gloucester Brewery officially launched its new 2,500 square foot Dock-side bar on Friday 24 September 2021, also opening its doors to investors and an exciting new deal with Gloucester Rugby.

Gloucester Brewery officially opened its new Dock-side taproom on Friday 24 September 2021, also revealing plans for a £500,000 Crowdfunding campaign and a deal with Gloucester Rugby.

Gloucester Brewery’s new city venue will mark the tenth anniversary for a business, which started as a micro-brewery in a still underdeveloped Gloucester Docks, and now owns Tank bar and restaurant and Fox’s Kiln Distillery.

The new taproom in Warehouse 4 will be another game changer for a business already capable of producing 500,000 pints of beer a year, which sold 5,000 bottles of gin last year, has just released a vodka range and is about to see its wares go on sale at Gloucester Rugby too. Greene King remains the official ale partner of the premiership club, a position it has held since 2017.

‘It is an exciting time. This 2,500 square foot development will not only create a brilliant new bar and event space for the city, it will also enable us to grow our brewing capacity by 500 per cent,’ said Jared Brown, founder and managing director of Gloucester Brewery.

‘This is a three-phase project. The first part is the opening of Warehouse 4, which is also a shop and bar.

‘We are also launching a Crowdfunding campaign, inviting people to invest £5,000 as we look to raise £500,000 of further investment.

‘And we have also won a big contract to supply Gloucester Rugby.’

Westons Cider will remain the club’s official cider, but with its chairman, Martin St. Quinton, and chief executive, Lance Bradley, also shareholders in Gloucester Brewery, its introduction to Kingsholm Stadium was inevitable.

All of which comes after ‘18 months of growth’ for Gloucester Brewery – an incredible turnaround considering 70 per cent of its trade disappeared overnight when the pandemic struck.

Demand for its home-delivery service throughout the social lockdowns allowed it to move ahead with its plans for the British Waterways-owned warehouse.

‘As we look to the future, we also want to take a moment to say a massive thank you to all of our staff, investors, customers and suppliers who have supported us over the years and helped make the brewery what it is today,’ said Mr Brown.
