First image revealed of what £3.5 million Gloucester Food Dock will look like

Developers behind Gloucester Food Dock, one of the most eagerly anticipated developments in Gloucestershire, have released the first image of it will look like when finished.

The first image of what developer Ladybellegate Estates’ much anticipated new £3.5 million Gloucester Docks will look like has been revealed.

Work began on the plans to create a home for 15 new independent food and drink venues on the waterfront at Gloucester Docks in September.

But until now we have had only out of date artist’s impressions of the vision for the 20,000 square foot Gloucester Food Dock beside the Soldiers of Gloucestershire museum.

SoGlos can now reveal the first up-to-date artist’s impression of what promises to be an exciting and eclectic mix of artisanal food operators in the quayside building overlooking Gloucester’s Victoria Dock marina.

A spokesperson for the developer said: ‘Work is progressing well on site. There has been a lot of exterior pile-driving going on over the last few weeks, but the project is on track and still due to open mid to late summer 2022.’

Lead contractors H Mealing & Sons is now on site and Ladybellegate Estates has said it was ‘more confident than ever’ of the city’s prospects.

Sarah Mansfield, co-founder of Bath-based Ladybellegate Estates, estimated the development will create the equivalent of 120 jobs and could be ready to open by late summer 2022.

A number of food businesses are understood to have already expressed an interest, but names are being kept under wraps.
