5 fabulous spots for outdoor cinema in Gloucestershire

Boasting picturesque hotspots, historic settings and poolside screenings, SoGlos has found five places to enjoy outdoor cinema this summer.

With the days getting longer and the nights warmer, it’s time to pack up a picnic, a flask and some low-backed seating and make the most of the fleeting British summer, with a classic alfresco film screening or two.

Spanning best-loved comedies, award-winning musicals, cult favourites and action classics, SoGlos is getting the popcorn ready and has put together a list of top places to watch cinema under the stars in Gloucestershire this summer.

1. Cowley Manor

Film fans can look forward to a fantastic outdoor cinema this summer at Cowley Manor, with the programme including Notting Hill and The Greatest Showman.

Screened by the Alfresco Film Company, the films are sure to delight audiences who can take along their own seating or picnic blanket to watch the movies under the stars.

2. Beechenhurst Lodge

Promising brilliant summer evenings in the heart of the Forest of Dean, Beechenhurst will play host to three open-air cinema screenings including The Greatest Showman and Labyrinth.

Film fans at Beechenhurst are also welcome to take along a picnic for the event, while hot food and cinema snacks will be on sale. What’s more there will be an event bar for those wanting to enjoy a tipple.

3. Westonbirt House, Tetbury

Providing a stunning backdrop, Westonbirt House in Tetbury offers a great setting for film fans, who can to soak up their surroundings before enjoying the film.

Screened by The Lost Cinema, favourites such as The Greatest Showman and Pretty Woman will be shown on the big screen, in front of a beautiful backdrop.

4. Glenfall House

Showing popular films in the glorious gardens of Glenfall House, this impressive estate offers the perfect backdrop to films such as Top Gun, Labyrinth and Dirty Dancing.

5. Over Farm

Showing everything from thrilling horrors to cult classics, Over Farm will play host to four outdoor film screenings this summer, promising a brilliant experience within an atmospheric setting.
Over Farm will be serving hot food and cinema snacks for audiences, while there will be a full event bar serving both alcoholic and soft drinks throughout the film events.
