The Story of the Nutcracker at Blenheim Palace 2021

The magical world of the Nutcracker combines with a stunning celebration of Christmas at Blenheim Palace in a new feature for 2021.

Explore the Palace’s state rooms, each one transformed and filled with hidden surprises – from the toymaker’s workshop on a frosty Christmas Eve; through the glistening Land of Snow and onto the candy-cane Kingdom of Sweets adorned with the sweetest of treats and larger-than-life gingerbread men. With visitors meeting the dashing Nutcracker Prince, an army of mice and a Sugar Plum Fairy along the way…

The Illuminated Trail at Blenheim Palace 2021

Always an exceptionally popular Christmas draw, Blenheim Palace’s Illuminated Trail will be welcoming families from across the Cotswolds once again – following a brand-new route that takes visitors across the South Lawn and into the woods beyond for 2021.

The one-mile glittering path winds its way through the Blenheim Palace’s world-famous parkland in a magical after dark experience – with an aerial light show filling the sky, and illuminated waterfalls, vines and sprawling trees to enjoy.

The towering tunnel of light will once again twinkle with over 100,000 pea-lights for those magical Insta-worthy photos, with a stunning water terrace finale.

Adding to a magical winter trip to Blenheim, sip spiced cider, mulled wine and hot chocolate, buy a mince pie, and gather around the fire-pit and toast marshmallows in the Christmas Market.

For added festive fun, the Victorian carousel, helter-skelter and other family rides are expected to return in 2021, with plenty of chances to stock up on stocking fillers too.

Blenheim Palace’s Christmas market is open from Friday 19 November to Sunday 19 December 2021, and is free of charge to visit.

Blenheim Palace opens at 10am, with the Illuminated Trail opening at 4.30pm.


Combined tickets cost from £50 for adults, £48.50 for concessions, £30 for children aged 3 to 16. Parking costs £10 per car and must be pre-booked.
