Prove your pancake tossing talent at this year's Dursley Pancake Race, as the annual event returns to the town on Tuesday 21 February 2023.
This quirky tradition takes place on Shrove Tuesday each year, with runners competing against each other in a race down Parsonage Street, flipping pancakes as they go.
Racers will have to toss their pancakes six times in total – once at the start of the race, twice on the way up, once at the halfway point as they turn around, then twice more on the way back to cross the finish line – all while keeping their speed!
The fastest pancake flipper win the title for 2023 but the best dressed will also be rewarded – with a trophy for the best fancy dress on the day, judged by the town's mayor.
Simply turn up at The King's Head pub to enter on the day – not forgetting to bring your own six- to eight-inch pan and pancake, all ready to flip!
There's usually a small fee to enter the race, with a local charity benefiting from the money raised, but details are yet to be confirmed.
