Film fans can look forward to a glam outdoor cinema programme at Cowley Manor, near Cheltenham, this summer – with titles including The Goonies on Friday 31 July 2020 and a poolside screening of Pretty Woman on Thursday 10 September 2020, from the fabulous Alfresco Film Company.
The striking Berkeley Castle provides a dramatic backdrop for a screening of Rocketman from The Lost Cinema, on Friday 21 August 2020. Gloucestershire’s Elton fans can also bring their own picnic and enjoy a drink or two from the onsite bar.
Promising a ferocious summer evening in Gloucester, Over Farm will host an atmospheric open-air cinema screening of Jurassic Park at this Alfresco Film Company screening. On Saturday 1 August 2020, classic film fans will also be able to enjoy burgers, hot dogs, popcorn and drinks at the event, as well as a bar serving Prosecco and Pimms.
Live the summer dream at Sandford Parks Lido on Friday 7 to Saturday 8 August 2020, with poolside screenings of The Greatest Showman and Dirty Dancing from the Alfresco Film Company. Tuck into a picnic, grab a drink from the event bar, and warm up your singing voice to join in with all the tunes.
This summer, the stunning Blenheim Palace in nearby Oxfordshire will play host to The Luna Drive In Cinema, showing everything from huge hits like Back to the Future and Sister Act to cult classics like Romeo + Juliet and The Rocky Horror Picture Show until Tuesday 28 July 2020. Get food and drinks delivered to your car via waiters on skates or scooters or pre-order a picnic hamper.
As part of its national tour, @TheDriveIn is bringing an authentic American-style drive-in experience to nearby Bristol in September 2020, with family-friendly flicks to late-night shows for the grown ups. Film titles include Grease, Back to the Future and Toy Story, as just a few examples, with car bingo, comedy and waiters on skates delivering snacks.
Gloucester’s celebrity chef, Tom Kerridge, is bringing Drive and Dine Theatre – a new drive-in cinema experience – to nearby Bath Racecourse, this summer. Movies span classics like Jaws and recent film releases such as 1917. Plus, there’s American-style comfort food including burritos, bacon cheeseburgers and cheesecake, curated by Mr Kerridge himself.
