Tivoli Cinema's new owner, Everyman Cinema, is renowned for its luxurious movie theatres, with opulent decor and upmarket food and cocktails.

The much-loved luxury Tivoli Cinema in Cheltenham's Regent Arcade has been bought by the operators of Everyman Cinema, who take over the running of the site with immediate effect, as of Friday 15 December 2023.

The sale comes six months after Empire Cinemas — the owners of Tivoli Cinemas — went into administration in July 2023, with all eight of its venues going up for sale.

Everyman Media Group owns 41 independent cinemas across the UK, with both Tivoli sites in Cheltenham and Bath being added to its portfolio. Everyman Cinemas are renowned for their opulent decor, lavish bars and delicious food and cocktails, much like Tivoli Cheltenham.

Everyman Cinema has described the sale as 'the beginning of a beautiful friendship', with reassurances that the only changes film lovers will notice is a new food and drinks menu.

The new owner has also assured cinemagoers that all bookings will be honoured, with pre-booked tickets accepted as usual, as well as gift vouchers and any outstanding credit — but future tickets will now need to be booked via the Everyman Cinema website or box office phone number.

Film showings at Tivoli Cheltenham continue as normal from 10am daily.
