Four Co-op Travel agencies across Gloucestershire are celebrating a victorious win at the prestigious ‘Travel Weekly Agent Achievement Awards’ which took place on Thursday 16 September 2021, scooping the ‘Central England Large Agency’ award, for the eighth consecutive year.

The awards were initially launched more than 25 years ago by multimedia company and magazine for the UK travel industry Travel Weekly and are said to be the highest honour in the industry.

After a challenging year for the travel industry due to Covid-19 and the mass of travel bans across the world, the 2021 awards were designed to honour those agencies who have represented the very best of the industry.

Natalie Turner, head of branches for Your Co-op Travel, said ‘We are absolutely thrilled to have been named Central England Large Agency of the Year for the eighth year running.

It’s been a challenging 18 months for our colleagues but the service and support they have given to their customers throughout the pandemic has been unwavering. This award is testament to their passion, resilience, and expertise’.

The award win was closely followed by the recent government announcement on Friday 17 September 2021, introducing the traffic light system for travel. The new ‘red’ and ‘rest of the world’ system hopes to provide a higher degree of clarity for travellers and encourage those to return to tourism.
