Michael Morpurgo, the author of bestselling children’s books War Horse and Private Peaceful, is making a guest appearance at BarnFest Outdoor Theatre Festival this August 2020.

BarnFest, from The Barn Theatre in Cirencester, will feature an outdoor theatre adaptation of Michael Morpurgo’s award-winning novel Private Peaceful, with the author taking to the stage for a Q&A after the opening night performance on Monday 17 August 2020.

The Barn Theatre was due to be rehearsing for the stage premier of Morpurgo’s The Mozart Question, but the Coronavirus pandemic put the project on hold.

Instead, fans of Morpurgo’s work can catch Private Peaceful from Monday 17 to Saturday 22 August 2020 at The Barn Theatre’s month-long festival of outdoor theatre.

Other BarnFest performances include Wind in the Willows, Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Kander & Ebb’s The World Goes ‘Round featuring songs from Chicago and Cabaret.

Tickets for Private Peaceful cost from £40 per box, with each box holding a maximum of four people.
