This summer, Miserden is inviting those who share an interest in traditional craftsmanship and natural resources to take part in its brand-new programme of workshops.

Running on various dates between Saturday 18 June and Wednesday 27 July 2022, visitors can reconnect with nature and experience the joy of learning a valuable new skill, such as wood carving, jewellery making, floristry, tablescaping or foraging, in the stunning glass structure known as The Peach House.

For a meditative experience in nature, designed to boost mental and physical health by tuning into your senses and exploring the landscape, Forest Bathing will be led by health practitioner Rosie Mockford, costing £55 per person, including refreshments.

Working with wild and woodland flowers, the floristry workshops will teach those taking part techniques for achieving structure, form and colour in a summer vase display. The Summer Vase Design workshop costs £75 per person and includes garden entry.

At the woodwork workshop, you can learn how to carve a spoon and spatula, using nothing but hand tools and recently cut wood from the estate, guided by a member of the Heritage Crafts Association and the Association of Pole Lathe Turners and Green Woodworkers. Priced at £150 per person, the workshop includes lunch at the café.

While as part of the foraging and cookery classes in partnership with Cotswold Cookery School and The Cotswold Forager, you can uncover culinary delights hidden within the grounds of Miserden, including hogweed, Stinky Bob (geranium robertianum) and nettles, turning foraged goods into hearty meals. These classes cost £125 per person.
