For the first time, Pride in Gloucestershire will be touring the county with a series of mini pride events this summer – making it the first Pride in the UK to do so.

Festivities will kick off at Cheltenham’s Pittville Park on Sunday 15 May 2022, before moving onto the Abbey Grounds in Cirencester for Sunday 12 June 2022.

The charity will then reach Cinderford Town Centre on Sunday 17 July 2022 and Tewkesbury’s Watson Hall on Sunday 7 August 2022.

All of which will anticipate Pride in Gloucestershire’s main event at Gloucester Park on Saturday 10 September 2022.

Each Pride event will be unique, but all will offer family-friendly entertainment and good vibes, with the series showcasing some of the top talent within the county.

Anya McKenna, Pride in Gloucestershire’s marketing and communications director, said visitors should ‘expect great company, yummy food and fabulous entertainment!’.

With one of the tour’s key purposes is to be accessible to everyone, McKenna hopes the events will provide an opportunity to ‘bring people together’, ‘show solidarity’ and provide a ‘safe and welcoming space for everyone’.

Head of diversity and inclusion for Pride in Gloucestershire, Samantha Neath, said: ‘We believe this Pride on Tour event is fundamental in breaking down the barriers and reaching potentially isolated members of our community, who may not be able to access the wider LGBTQ+ community of Gloucestershire.’

All events will be free to enter, with more information soon to follow.
