Mother Goose has sold over £1.2 million worth of tickets since it started in November 2023, passing the £1 million mark for the first time in the Everyman’s pantomime history.

With this season's panto curtains having drawn to a close, the Everyman Theatre has announced it attracted record-breaking audiences in Christmas 2023, selling more than 45,000 tickets — totalling over an incredible £1.2 million!

The 2024 show, Mother Goose, was centred around a magical golden egg-laying Goose, who lives on Piddly Plop Farm with Mother Tweedy and her two troublesome sons Caleb and Clarkson. However, the evil villain, Demon Vanity, made it her mission to try and steal the Goose and her magical eggs for herself...

Passing the £1 million mark for the first time in the Everyman’s pantomime history, this achievement not only marks a major milestone for the theatre, but will also be highly valued by the pantomime’s two chosen charities for 2023; Allsorts, a charity dedicated to offering activities for children with additional needs; and Home-Start Stroud and Gloucester, which supports parents with children under five-years-old who are going through challenging times.

Mark Goucher, CEO of the Everyman Theatre said: 'We are absolutely thrilled with the overwhelming response to Mother Goose. Pantomime season is the busiest period in our theatre’s calendar and this year we have managed to attract more than 45,000 people into Cheltenham, which is great for us and the surrounding businesses. As well as financial success, this year’s show was listed by The Stage Newspaper as one of the top ten pantomimes in the UK to see.'

Continuing the positive news, the Everyman Theatre has announced the title of it's 2024/25 pantomime, Aladdin!

Sure to be a highlight of the festive season, pulling out all the stops, the show will once again see the return of Gloucestershire's superstar clown Tweedy, delivering comic genie-ous in his role.

Tickets for Aladdin are now on sale, with the Everyman Theatre offering discounted early bird tickets, at 2023 prices, for those who book now.
