Former gymnastics champion opens new club in Gloucester

A new gymnastics club, with space for more than a thousand young people in Gloucester, has opened this summer.

Ex-gymnastics champion Jimmy Taylor Cardoso has launched the new Cheltenham and Gloucester Gymnastics Club, near Eastern Avenue.

A brand-new gymnastics club has opened in Gloucester as part of the British Gymnastics’ Social Investment Project, providing space for more than a thousand local children to take part in the sport.

Cheltenham and Gloucester Gymnastics Club, situated near Eastern Avenue, is being run by former Brazilian aerobic gymnastics champion, Jimmy Taylor Cardoso.

Taylor said: ‘Both the physical and mental health benefits of gymnastics participation have been noted by scientists and I’m thrilled that British Gymnastics have seen the potential for more provision in Gloucestershire.’

Cheltenham and Gloucester Gymnastics Club is running a holiday camp programme throughout the summer holidays, suitable for children aged 4 and above, with term-time classes starting in September and are suitable for ages 1 to 18.
