Dubbed ‘the jewel in jump racing’s crown’, Cheltenham Racecourse plays host to some of the best National Hunt racing action in the world, set in 350 spectacular acres at the foot of the Cotswold hills at Prestbury Park.
Since opening in 1831, its reputation for offering first-class racing and hospitality has stretched across the globe, with a capacity today boasting 67,500 across three enclosures including The Best Mate, Tattersalls and Club.
While the venue itself is a natural amphitheatre, it’s the twists of the course, the test of the fences and hurdles, and the fight to finish up the legendary Cheltenham hill that combine to challenge the strength of top racehorses and riders, with the Old, New and Cross Country Steeplechase courses all used throughout the season.
Whether visiting on a brisk December day or balmy springtime eve, Cheltenham Racecourse promises an electric atmosphere for novices and dedicated racing fans alike, thanks to its unique combination of quality racing, stunning location, world-renowned tradition and a shared sense of enjoyment.
There are eight fixtures held annually at Cheltenham Racecourse, ranging from one-day to four-day feasts of horseracing, with the 2018-19 season beginning in October 2018 and ending in May 2019.
