It’s the news Cheltenham’s swimmers and sunseekers have been waiting for – Sandford Parks Lido has unveiled its summer opening date.
The Lido will be opening its gates to season ticketholders on Monday 20 July 2020, for an exclusive week of swimming, before public swimming opens on Monday 27 July 2020.
Organisers have said the shortened 2020 season will operate in a different way to previous seasons, in order to comply with government and industry guidelines.
For its first week of opening, season ticketholders will be able to book one-hour ‘waves’ online from Friday 17 July 2020, with numbers limited to 50 swimmers at a time in the first week.
For its second week of opening, season ticketholders and members of the public will then be able to book their one-hour ‘waves’ from Friday 24 July 2020, with numbers of swimmers continuing to be limited.
There will only be lane swimming in Sandford Parks Lido’s main pool, with the children’s pool and play areas remaining closed. No new season tickets will be sold either.
