Following the sensational success of its 2018 tour, be My Beautiful Circus, Giffords Circus has revealed that the 2019 theme will be Xanadu.

Set to be a celebration of the 1970s in the height of the flower power movement, guests can expect to see hippies, rock stars and shamanic horses gather together for a joyful jubilee, compiling the very best music and art from the 70s.

The show will once again be directed by Cal McCrystal, produced by Nell Gifford and family, and fans of Gloucestershire’s favourite clown will be pleased to hear that Tweedy will once again be returning to the fray, fresh from his performance in the Everyman Theatre’s Waiting For Godot.

Opening on Friday 3 May 2019 in Stroud, Xanadu will tour the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire, London, Berkshire and Wiltshire throughout the summer, bringing along a number of new acts for 2019.

New performances include Lil Rice, niece of Nell Gifford and Daughter of Emma Bridgewater who’ll be wowing the audience with her cyr wheel, Anna Rastsova on the swinging trapeze, juggler Jacob D’Eustachio and a gymnastic vaulting act known as the Donerts.

Promising another year of awe-inspiring entertainment, Xanadu will feature gravity defying acrobats and a good dose of comedy, with audiences also having the option to extend their visit and dine under the stars in the UK’s only travelling restaurant, Circus Sauce.

Boasting an ever-growing fanbase, the tour will begin at Giffords Circus’ home in Fennells Farm near Stroud before travelling across the Cotswolds and beyond, returning to its headquarters for the final shows in September 2018.

With early booking advisable, Xanadu will visit Sudeley Castle, Daylesford Farm, Blenheim Palace, Oxford University Parks, Chiswick House and Gardens, Windsor Great Park, Stonor Park near Henley-on-Thames, Barrington, Minchinhampton, Marlborough, and Cirencester.
