The Woman in Black is once again set to have audiences at Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham gripping their seats for dear life, when Stephen Mallatratt’s spine-tingling play comes to town from Monday 16 to Saturday 21 September 2019.
Successfully staged in the West End for decades, Gloucestershire theatre-goers are getting another chance experience the play for themselves.
Adapted from the acclaimed 1980s novel by Susan Hill, The Woman in Black tells the tale of Arthur Kipps; a solicitor obsessed with the idea that he is haunted by a malevolent spectre dressed in black.
He enlists the help of a sceptical young actor to tell his terrifying story in a bid to exorcise the fear that grips his soul, and while it all begins innocently enough, as they reach further into his darkest memories, the borders between make believe and reality begin to blur and the flesh begins to creep.
Whether or not you caught the 2012 blockbuster film starring Daniel Radcliffe, you can’t beat the real theatre experience, so head down to the Everyman and see why The Woman in Black continues to pull in the punters year on year.
