Get into the Christmas spirit with a little help from Down for the Count’s 30-piece ensemble, performing toe-tapping favourites from the likes of Nat King Cole, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra, at Cheltenham Town Hall on Sunday 14 December 2025.
Between tours, Down for the Count can be found selling out jazz venues like Ronnie Scott’s and Cadogan Hall in London, having also performed at Wembley, Claridges, The Natural History Museum and Royal Ascot, among many other spectacular venues and popular festivals; while members of its orchestra have worked with megastars such as Elton John and Jools Holland.
See its award-winning vocalists and instrumentalists bring the swing era back to life at Cheltenham Town Hall, as the concert orchestra takes its Swing Into Christmas show on tour, showcasing songs from Down for the Count’s album of the same name, together with popular festive numbers such as 'The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting)', 'It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas' and 'Winter Wonderland'.
Featuring faithful recreations and original arrangements of hits like ''S Wonderful', 'That's Life' and 'New York New York', many new songs have been selected for this year's show, all performed in Down for the Count's inimitable big-band-with-strings style.
This swing extravaganza deserves to be an annual event in your festive calendar – alongside ice skating, lights trails and trips to the Christmas panto!
Tickets cost from £33 for adults and from £20 for students and under-18s. For more information and to book tickets, visit cheltenhamtownhall.org.uk.
